Ever since the ending of the last season, the rumblings of RMC Mean Streak began. When those rumors were quickly confirmed in the beginning of 2017 and Rocky Mountain Construction's signature I-Box track was being lifted into place, the runaway hype train took off. The entire 2017 season has been flooded with pictures, videos and blog posts talking about every insane installation that has taken place. One by one, day by day we uncovered just a little more of what Cedar Point has in store for 2018. Finally, on National Roller Coaster Day, the roller coaster capital of the world has finally unveiled it's latest creation.
Steel Vengeance will take riders up 200 feet and drop them at a 90 degree angle. The ride just gets crazier from there. With high speed hills, four inversions, 27.2 seconds of airtime and an impressive 5,740 feet of track, Steel Vengeance will look to stake claim to being the best rollercoaster in the park. With so many intense drops, turns and rolls this coaster seeks to land in many top-ten lists in the years to come. The layout is what is most impressive. Steel Vengeance seems to take the best elements on past RMC coasters and combine them into one massive roller coaster. This 2018 project further enhances an already incredible roller coaster line up and will further distance Cedar Point from other great theme parks around the globe. And if this roller coaster reaches success, Rocky Mountain Construction might become the top roller coaster manufacture in the world.
My Thoughts:
Watching the POV below, I can say this will without a doubt be the best RMC ever built. The layout seems to go on forever. Voyage is my favorite rollercoaster and Steel Vengance reminds me of a RMC's version of the Voyage. the one major difference being this ride will be taller and faster than my beloved coaster down at Holiday World. Add in a ridiculous first drop, four twisting inversions and dozens of airtime hills and you have a masterpiece. When all is said and done, Steel Vengeance will have the potential to be one of the greatest roller coaster's of all time. 2018 couldn't come soon enough.
